Hyunbo Cho

Founder, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Hyunbo Cho founded Alsemy in August 2019 and has served as Chief Executive Officer since inception, with his current term renewed on August 8, 2022. Under his leadership, Alsemy has pioneered AI (machine learning) applications in semiconductor technology, delivering cutting-edge device and process modeling solutions with advanced simulation capabilities. Prior to founding Alsemy, Mr. Cho served as Senior Engineer at SK Hynix from December 2011 to August 2019, where he specialized in compact modeling for both memory and logic technologies. His work included customized modeling of DRAM cells, NAND cells, ESD, SER, and emerging memory technologies, as well as the development of modeling software, including QA and parameter extraction tools. He received the SKMS Award for his contributions to next-generation model development and served as SK Hynix's representative in the Compact Modeling Coalition (CMC). Mr. Cho holds a Ph.D. (ABD) and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University.

Joungho Kim

Executive Director

Joungho Kim was appointed as an Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Alsemy on September 1, 2026, having first joined the Board as an Independent Director on March 26, 2024. He has served as a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at KAIST since 1996. Since 2024, he has served as Head Professor of the KAIST Graduate School of System Architecture, Korea's first industry-contract graduate program in the semiconductor field, supported by Samsung Electronics, and since 2022 as Head Professor of the Trans-Generational Collaborative Research Laboratory. He currently directs the NAVER·Intel·KAIST AI Joint Research Center (since 2024) and the KAIST–Samsung Electronics Industry–Academic Cooperation Center (since 2018). His earlier leadership roles at KAIST include Vice President's Advisor for Industry–Academic Cooperation (2021–2023), Director of the Global Strategy Institute (2020–2021), Vice President for Research (2017–2019), and Department Chair of Electrical Engineering (2011–2012). He also served as Director of the SK Hynix 3D Semiconductor Research Center (2012–2016). Mr. Kim is an IEEE Fellow (2016) and has served as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Electromagnetic Compatibility (2001–2016). His research focuses on next-generation AI semiconductor and architecture design, High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM), 3D integrated circuits and package design, and signal and power integrity.

Intae Jeong

Executive Director

Dr. Intae Jeong was reappointed as an Executive Director on March 25, 2025, having first been appointed on January 4, 2022. He joined Alsemy in March 2021 as Chief Product Officer (CPO), where he oversees product strategy and business development initiatives. Under his leadership, Dr. Jeong has successfully launched two major product lines that have been adopted by leading semiconductor manufacturers and has established strategic partnerships with key industry players. Alsemy has experienced significant growth in product adoption and expanded its market presence across Asia and North America under his guidance. His leadership is driven by his conviction that innovation in semiconductor R&D must be powered by AI technologies. Prior to joining Alsemy, Dr. Jeong worked at SK Hynix for 7 years (2014-2021) in two key roles. He spent four years as a DRAM Design Engineer, focusing on DRAM core design with expertise in design considering variations and Monte Carlo simulation. As AI emerged as a transformative force, he transitioned to the role of Data Scientist for three years, where he received education in machine learning and AI fields and applied these technologies to semiconductor data. Dr. Jeong holds a Ph.D. in Nanotechnology (2009-2014), a Master's in Physics (2007-2009), and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (2001-2007), all from Seoul National University.

Dong-Su Kim

Independent Director

Dong-Su Kim was reappointed as an Independent Director of Alsemy on March 25, 2025, having first been appointed on February 7, 2022. As the founding CEO of LG Technology Ventures, he established the fund structure, hired key people, and initiated investment operations. Under his guidance, LG Technology Ventures manages over $885 million of fund assets and invests in early-stage information technology, automotive, manufacturing, life-sciences, energy, and advanced materials companies. Previously, Mr. Kim served as Vice President and GM of Samsung Ventures America, managing offices in Menlo Park, Boston, London, and Tel Aviv, where he led investments in over thirty companies across diverse sectors including semiconductors (Soft Machines, Verisilicon, Wave Computing), equipment (DCG Systems, IMS, Reno Subsystems), materials (Nanosys, NexPlanar, Voltaix), and storage systems (Pure Storage). Prior to Samsung Ventures, he was a Director at Asia Evolution, an investment bank in Korea covering mid-market financing, private placement, and M&As, and served as Director at the Technology Strategy Office of Samsung Electronics, where as the CTO's staff, he was responsible for strategic venture investments and technology alliances. Mr. Kim began his career as a Technical Leader at Samsung Fiber Optics Business Unit in development of fiber optic components. His past Board Director appointments include notable technology companies such as Datera, Digital Specialty Chemicals, Femtometrix, Inpria, Reno Subsystems, SBA Materials, SVXR, D2S, DCG Systems (acquired by FEI), NexPlanar (acquired by Cabot), Voltaix (acquired by Air Liquide), Panasas, and Pixtronix (acquired by Qualcomm). He also served on the Investment Advisory Committee for Sierra Ventures.

Junhee Seok

Independent Director

Professor Junhee Seok was appointed as an Independent Director of Alsemy on September 1, 2026. He has served as a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering at Korea University since 2014, and concurrently as a Professor in the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Korea University since 2021. He currently serves as Director of the Institute for University Policy Studies at Korea University (since 2024) and previously served as Head of the Department of Semiconductor Engineering (2024–2026) and Associate Vice President of the Office of Research Affairs (2023–2025) at Korea University. Professor Seok began his academic career as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Statistics at Stanford University (2011–2013) and as an Assistant Professor of Health Informatics at Northwestern University (2013–2014). He returned to Stanford University as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Statistics (2020–2021). In industry, he has served as Chief Technology Officer at MediValue since 2021, as a Director and Vice Chairman of the Korea Next Generation Computing Society since 2016, and as an Independent Director of Mirae Asset Securities since 2022. His earlier appointments include Independent Director of Qraft Technologies (2016–2019), Head of the Mirae Asset Artificial Intelligence Finance Research Center (2016–2019), and Advisory Professor at Hankook Research (2022). His expertise spans statistics, machine learning, health informatics, and their applications to semiconductor engineering and financial technology.
